Vintage

The 2010 vintage was a long season for ripening after a beautiful flowering. This vintage will live for a long time — yet this racy, powerful, elegant wine can also be appreciated young. This vintage is a great example of what Sonoma can do with a diversity of soils and a grandiose climate. Harvest took place September 25th through October 16th.
– Pierre Seillan, Vigneron

Notes

Notes

Already impressive with a beautiful, intense color, this wine has an aromatic presence with notes of licorice and black fruit. An opulent palate is revealed through flavors of nutmeg and anise along with a weighty, yet silky, texture. This is a harmonious wine with a long finish supported by tannins and a mineral backbone.

As Pierre Seillan said, the huge heat wave at the end of September seems to have made the 2010 Vérité wines more approachable and front end-loaded than usual. This effort displays lots of blackcurrant and black cherry fruit along with hints of asphalt, incense and licorice. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated, and the wine is round, full-bodied and generous. It should drink well for 15-20 years.
