Vérité Vale surrounds our winery in the heart of the Chalk Hill appellation, named for the chalky soil that adds a memorable touch of minerality to wines produced here. The vineyard benefits from cool mornings and warm sunny afternoons moderated by breezy coastal winds. Our Merlot blocks face northwest, Cabernet Franc east and Petit Verdot south; these sun and wind orientations optimize the expression of each variety and its many micro-crus. Vines range from 9 to 13 years old and yield approximately 2 tons per acre. Elevation ranges from 160 to 225 feet above sea level.
